Cabinet Delivery & Warranty Claims:
The cabinets will come assembled and boxed with labels attached on the boxes to identify the cabinets inside (for example: SBA33 is a Sink Base Apron 33).
- Cabinet inspection is required by installer once the box is opened for any warranty related claims.
- If you have a warranty issue, please email [email protected] with:
- Name of project
- Cabinet Number and SKU (found on label)
- Photos of issue
- Description of issue.
- Warranty replacements typically take about 2 -3 weeks to replace.
- Touch up kits are typically provided with each project and are typically found in the crown molding boxes (long thin boxes). Any nicks or small scrapes can be fixed with the wax crayon and touch up paint/stain.
Plan the Layout:
Before installing cabinets, please mark the walls to look for any discrepancies between the layout provided and the field measurements. The measurements for the design were taken several months ago and the design may have gone through several iterations, issues with spacing can be resolved before cabinets are installed.
- The homeowner should have and be able to provide you with a packet with a layout and elevation drawings.
- These are to be used as a guide to make a well fitted kitchen, but are not intended to be precise. Use your best judgement in the field, and reach out to the kitchen designer if you have questions.
Install Tips
- FOR INSET CABINETS: The cabinets are INSET cabinets, meaning the doors sit inside the face frame. Be careful not to rack the cabinets out of square on install as you will see the gaps between the door and face frame.
- The door hinges do have three adjustments per hinge (in/out, up/down, left/right) but cannot solve for a racked cabinet.
- Use shims as needed to keep the cabinet as square as possible against the older walls.
- Shiloh cabinet doors have quick release hinged to pop the doors off easily.
- Check the ceiling height! We planned for up to 6” of crown moulding with a two piece crown. The first piece should provide 6” and the crown itself has a 3” rise so that should be able to provide up to about 9”, but these old homes do have slopes in their ceiling.
- Use spare 2x4’s to make something for the crown to attach to on top of the cabinets
- If needed, move the wall cabinets up from the standard 54” from the floor to a 55-56” from the floor. This will provide 18-20” from the countertop to the bottom of the cabinet.
- Typically, Center the sink on the window and install that as the first base cabinet.
- This sink cabinet is a farmhouse/apron style sink. The sink base will need to be cut out to fit the sink provided. The sink provided should have a template to follow. The sink itself needs to be installed prior to countertop templating.
